First Field Trip....

Little late on all the posting but we now have wifi so I can use the internet without the wireless card!  Yahoo!  JF got it for us so I can use it for homeschooling and I'm so excited!  I need to put the filter on my computer that Sho posts about on her blog (Thanks Sho!).
Friday September 3rd was the first homeschool meeting in Wilson.  We didnt get to go due to rain and gas costs so instead we took a family field trip to River Park North!  It was so much fun.  We went in the nature center and looked around at the animals and exhibits.  There was a rattlesnake on display that got really angry with me and Chelsie and started rattling his little shakers and rared back to strike.  That was so neat!
Then we all rented fishing poles and went fishing.  That was a blast!  James threw his hook out and hollered...."Look everybody I caught a fishin worm!"  he was excited about that.  Oh yeah I almost forgot, in my goal to not eat fast food, we packed a picnic lunch and enjoyed that at the picnic area.  Back to fishing....we started fishing on a pier but then I quickly realized it was too many kiddos to close to really deep water so I moved everyone to the watersedge (by the boat ramp) and we fished there.  I loved it!  We all loved it!  Until......Travis was fishing by the pier and leaned over to cast out and there was a huge wasps nest under the edge and they swarmed him and he was stung 3 times poor baby.  You could hear him hollering for miles....!
After we took him the the office to be treated with a spray of some sort and benadryl we went walking on the trails.  It was a wonderful day, followed by coming home and grilling out as a family and then playing I spy, the kiddos new favorite game!
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, Julie was the only one to catch a fish!  We used worms and crickets for bait, but I'm sure when the fish heard the Pierce Family coming they ran!
